Three Admin pages shape how your BOMs are structured before you build them: BOM Names sets the section and placement names, Default BOM Templates the reusable BOM skeletons, and Saved Sections the reusable section presets.
BOM names
BOM Names is where you set the names to use in a BOM, kept together as a library so naming and usage stay consistent. It holds two named lists: section names — the groupings a BOM is divided into — and placement names — the named slots that sit inside those sections. Type a name and click Add to extend either list; Replace swaps an existing name with another existing section. When you create a section in a BOM, names from this library are suggested as you type, and changes you make here in Admin apply directly in the BOM.
On a placement name you can also set default tags from your BOM tags, so those tags are added to the BOM automatically whenever that placement is used.
Default BOM templates
A default BOM template is a reusable skeleton — sections, each holding named placements — that you can apply to a product based on its hierarchy node instead of building it from scratch. Click Add template to create one and name it, then build up its sections and placements or copy a full existing BOM.
Saved sections
Saved sections are reusable section presets — a section together with its placements — saved from a product's BOM so the same set can be dropped onto other products. This page lists each saved section with its saved name, the section it represents, how many placements it holds, and the hierarchy nodes it's available under.
