Users and roles

Managing the people on your brand: adding and removing users, changing passwords, and the roles people wear — including product roles that drive product-header assignment and hierarchy defaults.

The people on your brand are managed across two Admin pages: Manage Users holds the accounts, and Roles holds the roles those people wear. What each person is allowed to do is controlled separately on the Permissions page.

Manage users

Manage Users lists everyone with an account on your brand.

Click Add User to create an account — set the person's full name, email address, and an initial password, and upload a profile photo. You can also assign a person with its roles. From a user you can Change password, or Remove user to revoke their access to the brand.

Each user also has an Admin toggle on their card. Turn it on to give that person admin access — the Admin pages where the brand is set up — and off to take it away.

Roles

Roles are the hats people wear on the brand — they tell colleagues who to ask for what, and they drive product-level assignment. Click Add role to create one and name it. Drag a role by its handle to reorder the list, and add or remove the users who hold it.

Each role can be marked as a product role — a role that does work on specific products, such as a designer, developer, or buyer. Product roles can be assigned in a product's header and used as defaults per hierarchy node. Leave the toggle off for company-wide roles, such as an admin or accounting role, that aren't tied to individual products.

💡 Good to know: a role is a label, not an access level. Holding a role doesn't by itself grant or restrict what someone can do — that's set per user on the Permissions page.
